Combined instruments

When multiple instruments are combined, lists of trigger inputs are created by combining the trigger inputs of the individual instruments. The lists starts with all trigger inputs of the first instrument in the chain, the instrument at the outside of the chain with the lowest serial number, then subsequently the inputs of the next instrument(s) in the chain are added. The name properties of device trigger inputs with a name will be prefixed with the instrument short name and serial number.

The listed available trigger inputs below assume a combined instrument consisting of three Handyscope HS5s, with serial numbers 28000, 28002 and 28001 (connected in that order).

Oscilloscope

Device trigger inputs

The combined oscilloscope supports the following device trigger inputs:

  • Input[ 0 ]: HS5(28000).EXT 1 (pin 1 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 1 ]: HS5(28000).EXT 2 (pin 2 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 2 ]: HS5(28000).EXT 3 (pin 3 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 3 ]: HS5(28000).Generator start
  • Input[ 4 ]: HS5(28000).Generator stop
  • Input[ 5 ]: HS5(28000).Generator new period
  • Input[ 6 ]: HS5(28002).EXT 1 (pin 1 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 7 ]: HS5(28002).EXT 2 (pin 2 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 8 ]: HS5(28002).EXT 3 (pin 3 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 9 ]: HS5(28002).Generator start
  • Input[ 10 ]: HS5(28002).Generator stop
  • Input[ 11 ]: HS5(28002).Generator new period
  • Input[ 12 ]: HS5(28001).EXT 1 (pin 1 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 13 ]: HS5(28001).EXT 2 (pin 2 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 14 ]: HS5(28001).EXT 3 (pin 3 on D-sub connector)
  • Input[ 15 ]: HS5(28001).Generator start
  • Input[ 16 ]: HS5(28001).Generator stop
  • Input[ 17 ]: HS5(28001).Generator new period

Channel trigger inputs

The combined oscilloscope supports the following channel trigger inputs:

  • Channel[ 0 ]: HS5(28000).CH1
  • Channel[ 1 ]: HS5(28000).CH2
  • Channel[ 2 ]: HS5(28002).CH1
  • Channel[ 3 ]: HS5(28002).CH2
  • Channel[ 4 ]: HS5(28001).CH1
  • Channel[ 5 ]: HS5(28001).CH2
